Why We Don't Take Your Money Up Front

Most services charge first and sort the details out afterwards. We do it the other way round, and here is the reasoning.

A traveller preparing a Chauffeurize booking request

Book almost any car online and the money leaves your account before anyone has looked at what you actually asked for. The confirmation is instant, which feels reassuring right up to the moment something is wrong with it.

We run it the other way round. You send a request, a person reads it, a chauffeur is assigned to your name, and only then does a price reach you. Here is why that order is deliberate.

An instant confirmation isn't a confirmation

A payment screen can confirm that your card worked. It cannot confirm that a driver is free at 5:40 in the morning, or that the vehicle you picked will hold four people and six suitcases, or that the hotel you named has an entrance a car can actually stop at.

Those questions get answered eventually. The only real choice is whether they are answered before you have paid or afterwards, when the answer is inconvenient for everyone.

Taking payment first moves the risk onto the traveller. Reviewing first keeps it with us, which is where it belongs.

What we ask you for

The request form takes about two minutes and asks for no card details. For an airport transfer we need the airport, the terminal, the flight number, and where the journey ends. For a chauffeured day we need where it starts, roughly where it goes, and how many hours you want.

The flight number is the one people skip and the one that matters most. It is how we know when you actually landed rather than when you were scheduled to, which means a delayed flight costs you nothing and does not need a phone call at two in the morning.

What happens while you wait

Someone reads the request. They check the route and what the road is likely doing at that hour, they check the vehicle class against the number of people and bags, and they find a chauffeur who is genuinely free rather than probably free.

If something does not add up — a pickup time that leaves no margin, an address that is hard to stop at, a car too small for the luggage — we write to you before quoting rather than discovering it on the day.

Then the price

Once a chauffeur is assigned, the price and a payment link arrive by email. It is set by hand for your journey, and it does not move afterwards. There is no surge, no peak multiplier, and no adjustment once you have paid.

Payment closes twelve hours before pickup. That is not an arbitrary deadline: it is the point at which we commit a chauffeur's day to you, and it needs to be settled before we do.

On the day

Your chauffeur's name, number, and vehicle reach you in advance. If you have asked to be met inside the terminal, they are in arrivals with a name board. If your flight moves, they move with it.

Nothing about the day should require you to manage it. That is the whole point of arranging it properly a week earlier.

A note on rental cars

Car rental works slightly differently. Rather than a form, you tell us the city, the dates, and the class you want, and our team confirms what is available before quoting. The same principle applies: we would rather tell you what we actually have than take a booking and sort it out later.

Rental is organised by class — Economy, SUV, Luxury, and Group — so you are choosing on space and comfort rather than a specific registration. You get one of the cars listed for that class, or a comparable one.
